Beer Fed Sirloin Steaks.
Our Beer Fed Sirloin Steaks are a firm favourite amongst our Hillstown customers. The steaks come from Shorthorn and Aberdeen Angus beef cattle that are produced at Hillstown Farm. Our farm here is perfect for growing grass naturally for grazing cattle. We select the best heifers to be beer fed and are each fed 10 litres of Stout from our Hillstown Brewery every day. These heifers are fed sweet brewers grains which together with the beer therefore providing a very tender Beer Fed Sirloin Steak.
Our team of master butchers ensure the beef is aged for a minimum of 28 days on the bone and is then expertly butchered. This helps to enhance the flavour and above all makes it super tender and delicious.
The way I love to cook my perfect Beer Fed Sirloin Steaks is quite simple. Get your frying pan on full heat and add a little splash of Broighter Rapeseed Oil and wait till its smoking hot. Season the sirloins with a little salt and pepper. Carefully add the Steak to the hot pan and don’t touch for 4 minutes and turn over and leave for another 4 minutes. This is perfect for a Medium cooked steak but if you prefer rare then 2 minutes each side or well done keep turning for another 4 minutes each side. Don’t forget to rest your steak for at least 5 minutes before serving.
Pure, Simple and Delicious!
