These 28 days dry aged Beer-Fed Rib Eye Steaks are our most popular steaks.They are produced here at Hillstown Farm where all our beef cattle graze our grassy meadows overlooking Slemish mountain. We select the best Shorthorn and Angus heifers to be beer fed where they enjoy about 10 litres of Horny Bull Stout each day from Hillstown Brewery. We also feed the brewers grains from our brewery to these cattle to provide an excellent amount of fat to the beef so we can dry age on the bone for up to 6 weeks. These Beer Fed Rib Eye Steaks are second to none with fantastic flavour and are so tender. A real treat!
We use Shorthorn and Angus beef cattle here at Hillstown Farm for lots of reasons. Not only do they provide the best beef but they are slow growing, hardy and easy to maintain. The beef is so rich and full of flavour. We never use antibiotics on our livestock which makes them safe for you!
The way I love to cook my perfect beer fed rib eye steak is quite simple. Get your frying pan on full heat and add a little splash of Broighter Rapeseed Oil and wait till its smoking hot. Season the rib eyes with a little salt and pepper. Carefully add the Steak to the hot pan and don’t touch for 4 minutes and turn over and leave for another 4 minutes. This is perfect for a Medium cooked steak but if you prefer rare then 2 minutes each side or well done keep turning for another 4 minutes each side. Don’t forget to rest your steak for at least 5 minutes before serving.
